Sunday 17th February: Morning Service at 10.30am with Libby Webb and Margaret Radford –

Light of the world                                            Lord I lift your name on high

Amazing grace how sweet the sound             All my days, I will song this song of gladness

How deep the Father’s love for us                 Christ alone, cornerstone

Readings Jeremiah 17:5-10 and 1 Corinthians 15:12-20

We are looking into an exciting new opportunity for risk taking mission combined with radical hospitality working in partnership with the Well coffee shop in Long Eaton. This would be initially on a Monday morning with opportunity to grow in the future and will reach out to local families. Please do pray for God's guidance and direction as we consider this opportunity and also whether this is something God is guiding you to get involved with. Please speak to Jane Allen for more details

Items in the vestry

There are some items that have been left in the vestry that don’t belong there, together with papers relating to various past services.  These will be on a table at the back of church on 17 and 24 Feb.  Any items/papers not collected after 24th will be disposed of.

Notices Team – After February we will no longer have a team to produce the notices unless some others volunteer to take over.  This task takes approximately 2 to 3 hours each week on a Thursday/Friday and involves collating the notices from the emails received, typing and printing hard copies as well as pasting the content onto the website and Mailchimp for our electronic copies.  We will be happy to train anyone who wants to get involved, please speak to Ruth Broad or Sarah Sedgwick for more details.

Canaan Trust Sleep Out Friday 26th April. ”Sleep Out so Others can Sleep In”

This is a practical way of supporting Canaan by helping to raise awareness as well as funds and it’s only for one night to support those for whom it’s every night!  Is this something you, perhaps with a friend, feel called to do? If so, please contact the Canaan office on 0115 9464903 or email: office@canan-trust.co.uk

CHRISTIAN INSTITUTE – a few people from Trinity attended a meeting where the Christian Institute spoke about their work in the UK.  For those who are not aware of their work, the Christian Institute exists for “the furtherance and promotion of the Christian religion in the United Kingdom” and “the advancement of education”. The Christian Institute is a nondenominational Christian charity committed to upholding the truths of the Bible. They are supported by individuals and churches throughout the UK. They believe that the Bible is the supreme authority for all of life and they hold to the inerrancy of Scripture.  We would encourage all Church members to join their mailing list.  Subscribers will receive a Friday summary email of news on religious liberty, marriage and the family, sanctity of life, and public morality as well as prayer requests and action points on events that require urgent attention in our nation.
